I've been in internet marketing now for close to 4 years and I've seen and done a lot of stuff online to make money. My first 11 months were spent studying, trying (and sometimes failing), but after one year I was making a solid $8000/month and I did quit my day job to start living the home based business dream. But it wasn't as simple as "Make $500/day within your first week" or "Process from the Luxury of Your Living Room and make $10,000/month!"

They won't even make a buck! Now this is for many reasons, but the main reason for this is that about 90% of these people don't even try. Maybe this is you? Who knows. It really doesn't matter. The point is that if making money online was so easy, why isn't everyone doing it (or for that matter, trying it and succeeding!)?

Common sense tells us that these offers are "too good too be true", but there is always that little voice in our head that tells us "Maybe it will work for me"?

I was one of these people, too. The difference was that I knew these offers were too good to be true, yet after understanding the fundamentals of online money, I realized that this COULD work. So I stayed with it, persevered and it did "ultimately work for me".

"Is Internet Marketing a Scam?"

Absolutely not! Internet marketing is alive and thriving right now. The scam is what marketers may do with it. I've met dozens of multi-millionaires who have created incredible business empires online over the years.

• Some of them are simple one-man teams who work out of their basement for 4 months per year and vacation the other 8 months.
• Others turn their businesses into major companies and manage them as corporate entities.
• Some just love what they do, are passionate about the internet and run extremely successful blogs for 5 hours per day, 5 days per week.
• And some are just a-holes.

These people will lie, cheat, steal and abuse the system just for their own financial gains. These people usually do pretty darn well, too. These are the scammers. These are the people who sell online money making dreams, not real ways of creating online wealth. These are the people who cause you to say to yourself:

"What Am I to Believe?"

That is a great question and one that I cannot provide a definitive answer for, either. Who the heck am I? Why should you even keep reading this? You know I will be trying to pitch something by the end of the page...

Fair enough.

But I at least want to explain a few things about this industry to at least allow you to make the best educated decision on whether making money online can be done, or if it is all just a an internet marketer's fabricated dream.

Is Internet Marketing For You?

Let's get down to it! I receive a LOT of emails on a daily basis from people wanting to know whether or not online marketing is for them. Some of these emails are from people in dyer's straights about their finances wanting to know if this is a solution (and these stories STILL affect me emotionally, too). Let me answer a few scenerios (and I answer them bluntly, not to sound rude, but to prove a point!):

"I need to be making money fast within the next month. What do you recommend that I do?"

I recommend that you get a job. Internet marketing riches rarely EVER happens overnight (or even in 30 days). And if it does, it is usually a fluke or plain luck. People in the business with the time, money and resources CAN produce huge amounts of wealth in less than 30 days, but for those just starting out this is not realistic.

"I'm retired but I'm looking to make some extra money on the side."

GREAT! I think this is a wonderful idea. The internet caters to many user-friendly tools and resources to set up blogs, sell products and promote other people's products. I demonstrate many of these tools in step-by-step videos within TruGuru. Don't be intimidated by the internet...at the same time, be realistic on your goals! The internet is a great supplement to your retirement, not a replacement for it!

"How Much Do You Think I Could Make in 30 Days?"

Typically, I would say breaking even or even making a few dollars within the first 30 days is more than achievable. There are things like selling on eBay that can earn you more, faster, but these are usually fairly "quick hit" cash strategies that don't have much longevity (plus, it can be a lot of work!) This is a time of building, growing, learning, trial and error. If you have more to invest, this can go faster, but typically this first month is feeling out the internet neighborhood and figuring out "What the hell is going on?"

"How about 90 Days?"

In my first 90 Days, I started to generate a steady few hundreds of dollars. That is profit. (And remember that I did this working about 1-2 hours per day, 6 days per week after my normal day job. I also invested less than $200/month on expenses.)

"Give me a Step-By-Step Plan/Recipe to Get Me Rich Online!"

Well, I try to do this, in fact, with the TruGuru program. I divide the program up in a 10-week program complete with a task manager (kind of like homework, but more fun of course!). Still, I was weary about doing this.

Things like making 30 million dollars per month on CPA networks or how PPV will provide you with traffic for less than 1 cent per click. Yea, this may sound technical to some of you...don't worry. They are just the latest crazes right now. Been there, done that. And I will tell you right now that these are NOT the solutions to making you money online.

Sure, I do talk about this kind of stuff in TruGuru (usually during a webinar or a pre-recorded video). But I don't sugar-coat it and I don't pretend that these ideas are going to revolutionize the internet any time soon.

I like to focus on your options, the strategies that DO work (and that will always work) and reporting on the trends and the products that do surface (some aren't even that bad...).

"So How Much Work Is There to Do?"

What's the old saying, "Rome wasn't built in a day"? Neither was most successful internet ventures. But it doesn't require tons of work either. For the first year, I still had a 9-5 job and worked on this for only 1-2 hours per day. That was it. After 11 months, I was earning over $7500/month. With a little focus and persistance, you WILL make this work and you don't have to sacrafice too much in the process.

"i liked how you defined the sales funnel that is currently not working. that is the business model that i have been using and it's simply just not working. people don't want to be sold to, they understand email marketing and they are turned off. even if they sign on to your list and you may make that initial soft sell, it's very hard to make those big ticket end sales. the percentage of people who will actually buy the back-end item is abysmal, especially so when you don't have thousands of people on your list to begin with. so, seeing that you understood the current business model being used by the majority of internet marketers and pointing out the flaws, i figure you may be on to something and that you made actually know what you're talking about."
